Anyone found the tank filter locally. I see Year One has them, but I was hoping to find it close to home.

Thanks in advance!

IIRC Ford had those socks through their parts department, but I'm not sure if they still stock them. I bought one last year from Megaparts, their shipping is very reasonable.

Make sure you get the right size.
5/16" or 3/8"

No I haven't looked, if I did I would try a Dodge dealer first?

I took this sending unit out recently that has been in for like 10+ years to find the sock off rolling around inside my tank. I pulled the sock out with dirty greasy gloves on, that's how the filter got dirty.

I rinsed it out with my parts washer and blew it dry. I reused it but this time I used a stainless screw hose clamp to hold it on. No pictures of it installed but I put the clamp 3/4 of the way up the filter to be sure I clamped the 3/8 tube and still have most of the sock useable. Anyone got any better ideas on how to hold it on there, don't tell me about any kind of glue. Thanks

Mastershake340- I thought I remembered talk on hear about Ford having the strainer and float but a search turned up empty.
I went to the Ford dealer on Monday, parts guy didn't seem too interested in helping me unless I come up with part #'s. [Not slamming him, I understand that].

Snoopy- I have a 3/8" sender

Challenger1- I called the Dodge store and they did not have/could not get it.
My sock was wasted 10 years ago when I had it apart last time and I did not deal with it then.
I've ran out of gas a couple of times the last few years and just did again 2 weeks ago on the way home from Wed nite grudge racing.
I figure all my freinds are gonna quit helping me if I don't fix it

My brass float was full of gas and sat on the bottom of the tank, so I soldered that up. Like M/shake340 says Megaparts and other places have what I need so I'll just order a new float and sock.

In the meantime, I used a Gm sock I had and put that on the pipe with a 3/8 90 degree fitting [after I drilled it out to size].
