I'm installing a 528 crate Hemi in a B body with 3.54 gears. It's a street car with 28" tall street tires, and won't see much track time. What's a good converter choice?
I'm looking for real experience here not theoretical choices. Thanks

I had a Turbo Action 3000 stall in my Charger before I switched to the 5 speed. It seemed to work well, what cam are you going to run? this makes all the difference.

Take care,

it's a current Mopar Performance 528 crate Hemi. One of the Ray Barton built single 4 barrel 610 hp versions.

I've attached a spec sheet for you. I worked at one time for a company (advertises here)that builds high stall converters. Fill out the questions they ask for, and then give your preferred converter supplier the sheet. Be honest with your answers, as the converter you're looking for should be custom built to your car/engine's needs. If you've got a dyno sheet for the engine, make sure you send a copy of it along with the spec sheet. Don't guess as to what horsepower you've got, as you'll probably be wrong. With that engine and with the horsepower it should make, your converter should be: furnace brazed(pump and cover), bearings (3), a billet mounting cover, HD sprag, and HD mounts. Depending on how you drive it, you might even want to consider a custom CNC steel stator. With what you've got, the chances of getting the right converter off the shelf I think are very slim. Properly applied, a high stall is a great investment, improperly applied, the worst money you can spend on a performance part. Whatever you do, don't even think of a USED CONVERTER , because you never know what you're getting. If you want/need further information, send me an email.
