Well I got our LM-1 working good and some have gave me tuning tips on my other thread (Thanks guys) but Im not satisfied with the wires wired into the fusebox like it is... just doesnt seem like the right way to do it being there is about four or so wires going into the fusebox to make it work... Being not an electrical type of guy, can some give me good suggestions for a clean wire install? I would also like to wire up the tach without using the fusebox as well.

Getting battery power from the fusebox makes sense to me. Just be sure and have a fuse for the LM-1 circuit.

Other tips:
1) I don't like the cigar lighter cord, direct wire is preferred.
2) Get a good ground. This is double important for using the RPM adapter (for external signals like a tach).
3) Read and follow the instructions for keyed vs non-keyed power and its relationship to the internal 9V battery.

I dont keep mine in the car all the time ... I use
it then pull the whole thing out(including the sensor)
so the lighter plug works fine for me

I eliminated the cigar lighter power plug by cutting the end off and splicing in a piece(actullay I used two connectors on that end) of the same size wire and hooking it up to the starter relay box under the hood on the main battery feed I also used a common ground on the motor I did use a unused fuse connection on the back side of the fuses in the main fuse box that was not in use, air condioning one I think,to provide power to the on and off switch to the LM1. I made up a wire and slid it on the back side of the fuse box and fed it back to the LM1
