What is the reason for grinding the throttle valve when installing this kit? Will it have an effect on kickdown?

I did it to mine, I followed the directions and assumed that it didn't. Now you have me thinking!

How did you guys do it? I took mine to a machine shop, but the instructions said it could be done on a bench grinder. No way I'd be able to get it round on the grinder.

You are making it shorter it doesn't necessarily need to be round, make it flat and take off the burr .

I do it in a lathe though .
