I noticed my freshly restored idle solenoid is "spotting" which to me appears to be pre- oxidizing.
I have it sitting in a heated shop with a dehumidifier running 24/7.
My question is , does anyone have any suggestions for cleaning up the spotting before treating the solenoid with RPM?

Scott(Smith-Harms), your PM mailbox is full.

I have (most ) of the solenoid barrels plated in silver zinc but it's thin but it can oxidize none the less. Hit with some Wenol metal polish and a soft cloth, should look like new again in a couple minutes. If it is bare metal, use RPM as suggested after you buff off any whitish residue.
