cool , I assume one is a tach drive distributor ?
Yea they both are tach drive units so I'll drive my old Stewart Warner tach off this setup as well.

Accel copied the original made by Dickie Oldfield and Joe Pappas for the MOTOWN MISSILE Challenger
That one began life as MALLORY TACH DRIVE UNIT r that had provision for a fuel pump.

Nice Work!
Cheers.
here is a pic of a real Accel unit
Dick Landy was one of the early guys to try dual plug ignition and he used a Hilborn fuel pump drive but hehad some trouble getting it to fire accurately.
Not sure who built the unit below but it is like the one Dick built.

Very nice. I like the idea. Are you going to be needing that big spark, or is it for looks? What ignition source will you be using? Thanks, and congrats on the enginuity.
Thanks for the positive comments.
Not sure if I need all this spark or not but my Hemi deserves it, the short block is an old Don Carlton/Motown Missile Hemi, the magnesium tunnelram came off the Motown car as well & the dual plug heads came from Loren Zeedyk's Pro Stock Volare.
I'm running the old Mopar crank trigger setup
Ron Killen from the Missile team has been helping me with the setup (as have many on this site)& I have decided to add a third pickup senser so one runs start retard, one runs full advance for one set of plugs (like in the Mopar engine book) but I'll run a third sensor for full advance only on the second set of plugs. This will give me the ability to fire the plugs a couple of degrees apart.
I'll use 2 Mopar style ECUs, possibly chrome boxes & a couple of correct looking Prestolite coils or Blaster coils painted Prestolite blue

not long after Accel made those 16 plug units Then along came the CD ignition I think designed by Ron Killan with enough spark to use only one plug
OK . . . so maybe I don't need dual plugs but as you can see below they sure look good.
The dual plugs won't just be for show, it will be a fully functioning system that I built a lot of myself so I will understand it & it gives the engine a personal touch.

they still used them even when CD came along but in a different manor. only four wires in eqach cap were u7sed as a method of eliminating spark jump to otherwise adjacent wires.
most now only use one plug and the other a dummie

25 or so years ago I built this T-Bucket, it had a Mallory Double Life dizzy.
The dizzy had a 4 lobe cam with each set of points fireing every second cylinder as opposed to modern dual point dizzys that have one set of points to open the curcuit & the other set of points to close it.
