Does the Egr valve get painted with the intake or was it bolted on after the engine was painted.Working on a 74 duster 360 if it matters.

I believe after paint. The base is bare metal and the upper diaphragm is zinc-dichromate.

gotta dig deep back to find this so bear with me.

bare iron base - yellow zinc-dichromate vacuum chamber with (again not 100% sure ) but a silver foil decal ,OR maybe black lettering.
might be simple black ink stamped

friend of mine had an nos valve , I 'think' he sold it at Carlise last year. I don't remember the application of the one he had

Huh! The parts book lists that EGR valve (3769662) as being for V,L, w/318 Eng. w/3 or 4 Sp. Trans. w/Calif. Emissions Pkg. or V,L,B,J,R,W, w/360-4 Bbl. Eng. w/Auto. Trans. w/ Calif. Emissions Pkg.

Do you have a pic of the emissions sticker under the hood?

I will check but I do not think that it was on the car.

I bought an NOS valve for my 73 last year. No sticker but there are black ink stamps on it. There is a member here with a 74 Cuda survivor.(318) I've got engine compartment pics on my computer somewhere. I think it shows a white and blue sticker on the valve.
