We're taking my friends '68 Charger to the Nat's this year, but it's not getting back from the paint shop until the end of July. My friend wants to save 150 buck by installing the vinyl top himself (with my help). I told him to spend the extra and just be done with the exterior, because we still need to install a full interior (including dash).

Long story short, how much of a PITA is it and how long will it take for two guys that have never done it?

IMHO,...if you have to ask how much of a PITA it is to install a top, properly.....spend the $150, you'll be glad you did

Oh, it'll be easy to install, but will it look good? I have my doubts....

Thanks guys for the responces. I agree with the post above. With the money he's paying for the paint job, just get it over with.

I've installed tops for years
I would use a KEY brand top & let a pro play with it
150 bucks is a good price 25-30 of that is glue alone

$150 is cheap. But we've done two (one full, one half) and both came out well. Use good 3M adhesive if you do it yourselves!
