Not sure about the weight but I wouldn't sweat it. Also I would find one that already has a power lok unit anyways. Dana 60s are very common and shouldn't be hard to find at all. Honestly I bet you could find one for 50 bucks.

Not much more, 20 lbs at the most. You can cut the webbing off if you want to get it closer.

Make absolutely sure that rear end is a Dana 60 HD, look on the axle tube webbing for the "60" cast in on it, and not a GM Corporate rear end GM made a lot of different corporate rear ends(after 1970) that look a lot like the Dana Spicer Corp rear ends

It might be a 70 also. check for the 60 cast into the housing. There is also a 61 and a 71, they were hybrids. If you want to get it narrowed, contact Dutchman and use the ford big ends. It allows for bigger bearings and you can install the explorer rear discs that are an EXACT interchange with the mopar jeep grand cherokee. The calipers swap, the pads interchange, and the rotors are the same. Tim

Looks like Dana 70 but it uses Dana 60 internals.

Those axles are prized by offroaders. It should have 3.125" axle tubes (.500" thick), the 3.5" tubes did not come about till the 90's and Chevy no longer used Spicer axles by then. If narrowed with car ends, the axle would be about 50-70lbs heavier than a .250" thick (axle tube) car Dana 60. You'll never bend the rear end though...

Don't use it. We put one in the kid's 4x4, the Dana 60 is a lightweight compared to that pig. Lots and lots of 60's around and they go cheap.
