I am looking to convert my non-power drum brakes to disk. Who makes the best complete bolt on kit for these? Thanks.

I doubt you'll find better than Wilwood for the price...

Without knowing what you're trying to do with the car it is difficult to provide an answer. For street driving the best setup is to put the factory 11.75 rotors on there. The factory setup works better than any of the cheap aftermarket kits.

If you're willing to spend $2000 or so then you can buy a higher quality kit that can handle more severe duty.

The 11.75 would be nice Andy. I'm finding it hard to find all of the parts needed though.

I'm running late model A-body front discs and a Summit PV. Works very well. Make sure you have the right Master cylinder.

The car is just used as a weekend cruiser. I am looking to upgrade the front brakes to provide a little better stopping power. Does anyone use the non power disc setup? The 11 inch drum brakes will stop it now, but it takes awhile. Thank for all the tips.

I converted to the non power front disc in my 69 GTX. origionally the car had front drums and power brakes. I purchesed the entire kit from Dr Diff. This included the master cylinder and all related parts to make it work and all the parts for the front end. Additionally I upgraded to he slotted front rotors.

I also went with new disc brakes for my 68 Charger. I purchesed a kit from "The Right Stuff". (this was about three years ago) Nothing but trouble with that kit. I would not purchase any of their products again.

Best setup for a weekend cruiser is the factory 11.75 setup. Most of the parts are available over the counter so rebuilds are easy. Spindles are available used or new. Rotors, calipers, hoses, pads, bearings, etc are all available new at any NAPA auto parts store.

You just need to buy the correct calipers and hoses to work with your car. Eberg's article is a good place to start. I also covered the topic in more depth in my B-body book. If you don't have the book then you might want to pick that up. There are lots of pictures in the book of stock brake setups as well as various other kits.
