I just use 1/2" bolts... get long bolts that have a
long shoulder and cut the head and treads off...
grind a tapper to the ends

Here is a warning , Mopar bellhousing dowels are not 1/2" , .500 , they are .496 and yes the .004 makes a difference.

Also are you going to dial in your bellhousing ? If so use the RobbMc dowels and not the WRONG Lakewood FORD dowels .

I've used 1/2" bolts many times... IF they are too
tight then either use a lathe or put them in a drill
motor and use a file to turn them a bit... most times
they tap in

I do this MOST of the times... I like to make them
longer than stock so its easier to line the trans on
with a longer tapper but still have plenty of the
needed diameter

You might be able to still get the correct dowels over the counter. If not, Brewers will have them. Mancini might have them also. The Mopar dowel pins are not the same as hardware store dowel pins, they are a special size. A lot of people don't know that which is why a lot of parts get ruined.

x2 for RobbMc assuming you are running a manual and you want to dial the bellhousing in.
