Would appreciate seeing some combos used that work. Preferably the largest in the rear without and mods. Thanks in advance!

I think there are around a half-dozen of us here.
Better to go over to Vintage-Vans and look at the pics. easily over 20 over there.

I will say that this is a question that gets asked a lot, but is really variable. Here's why;

1. It is extremely rare to find one that is not modded or worn (sagging springs) in any way.
2. These were built with typical for the era truck tolerances. If you measure a dozen A-100s, you will probably get some wide variations. What fits on one may rub on another.
3. Biggest could mean tall or wide or differrent combos of each. Wheel offset (and those tolerances mentioned) can make or break a tire fitting. Are you willing to spend big money on custom offsets to support the largest tire?
4. Does the "no mods" also mean no repairs to correct past mods, or does it mean you don't want to change things?

Anyway, 14" wheels work on stock drums but have limited tire sizes. 15" rims are better and you can go up to about a 235/75/15 on most. A bit smaller in front for turning clearance, but it may fit. If you want 16" or larger, there have been a few installed, but none I know of that were buy and bolt-on. They all worked to get them in there.

This one looks like 14s, don't know the sizes.

Henrick's has 15s, but he may have done stuff to get them in there.

I've been grabbing A-100 pics for a couple years now from every van I've found listed and doing my own searches. You can do the same and develop ideas on how you want the finished look to be.

Most want to lower them a bit or live with the worn springs, so they tend to be lower than stock.
Others like the jacked up 70s look with the tires sticking out. This often requires lift blocks in the rear so the tire clears the fender. That's kind of how my 108 is done.

Here's a picture of one in original form. The front and rear are higher than darn near any one you will see now due to spring sag. That's why "what will fit" is different for each one.

I see that you posted the same thing over in the Yahoo group (or someone with a very similar name).
This is probably the best answers you will get, but again it depends on YOUR clearance.

Quote:

I'm running 215/65-15 on 15x6 rims on the front and 255/60-15 on
15x8 on the rear. Tire sidewall bulges match, and there's a nice
rake to it! A100 grocery getter in the photo section. I'm 100%
satisfied with the choices.

I am using 215 - 65R15 on American Racing 15"X7" width rims and added some inexpensive trim rings. Handles/steers great and only issue is the speedometer reads lower.

Thanks John for your help. I'm new to the whole A100 thing. I have a set of 275/60-15 Et streets on 8" rims that I may try. Can you explain a little more about your lifting blocks in the rear. Thanks

The axles on these are under the spring, not over like the cars. To raise the rear, you can remove the U bolts, drop the axle down, put in a lift block and install longer U bolts.
There are some warnings on these.
Be careful doing the work. Lots of weight that can shift.
They should be strong.
They should be limited to an inch or 2..
you may want to install an angle shim if the pinion angle is off.
Never use them on the front.
Here's what they look like (Jeg's)

Here's one installed

If you install them on a car, they are lowering blocks, because the move to axle UP in relation to the springs, not down...

That's the right way to do it. On my 108, some past owner put in the rear axle and springs wrong. I've got to fix it, but have been putting it off. I'm only running around town and short distances, plus I've got a bunch of other stuff to fix, so I haven't done it yet. I'm doing a major cleanup of the engine bay right now.

How is it lifted to clear those 15X10s?
The rear of the spring has a hanger that is supposed to bolt to the body and go UP to the spring end. On this one, the hanger goes DOWN.
This will mess with the proper suspension geometry and the pinion angle. There have been cases where it's torn up U-joints.
Just another thing on the list.

Thanks for your help man! I guess I don't want to mess around with the geometry etc. Just looking for the tallest tire to fill the wheelwell and not rub on the lip. I'll experiment with a couple different combos I have around.

I have 15' rallys with 215/75/15 tires. My speedometer is finally working correctly too! My spare is a very old 215/75/15 so I think I have the right size now. They are tall and fill the wheel well nicely, but may be a little narrow looking from the back.

That blue green van looks cool! Anyone fit a 275/60-15 on an 8" rim with no mods.?
