Hello, Does anybody know who has the best price on rotors for my 1970 15" wheel Ebody?? Napa is listing a price of 164.00 for a 70 ebody, but then they list some for 64.95 for a 76 Diplomat??? Aren't these all the same???

The later ones are unicast rotors, which are cheaper and also a better design. Pick up a set of spindles from a 73-76 A-body or a 73-74 E-body. These will bolt right on and you can use the bigger 11.75 inch rotors from something like a 78 dodge monaco.

I understand the unicast versus the two piece rotors, however, what I don't understand is besides that one thing, what else would prevent me from putting 73-79 rotors on a 70 spindle?? Do I have to swap out the spindles?? If that is the case, I guess I would be better off keeping the correct spindles and paying the big bucks for the 70 rotors? Can anybody clarify these items? I think I am hearing that the difference has something to do with the bearings?? Is that correct???

SuperCoronet, I read that article, but it only speaks to changing from drums to discs. I have a 70 Challenger which came with front discs and 15" wheels. I am looking for new rotors and I would like to do it without changing any other front end parts, because they are all there. I was wondering what would prevent 79 rotors from going onto 70 spindles?? Is that why the 70 rotors are 169.00 and over 200.00 at year one??

You need to change your spindles in order to use the 11 3/4 inch rotors or the 10 3/4 inch rotors because in 1973 the inner bearing was changed to a larger diameter. 1970,71,72 disc brake spindles use a smaller inner bearing. That's why rotor's just don't bolt up to your existing stuff. The bearing's are different.

Will these rotors fit my 1969 Hemi Roadrunner? I went to their site and they did not have a listing for the RR, but did for the 70 Challenger.

Hmmm, YO lists a different rotor for 66-69 B body w/4 piston caliper.

Well here are the part numbers if you can get them crossed over somewhere for your 69 RR.

Yeah, neither Wagner or Raybestos doesn't have a listing for it.

You know its been 3 or 4 years but I bought new rotors for my '70 cuda from Firm-Feel and they were like $75 each. If you can wait until Monday it may be worth calling them.

IMO, if you can find a cheap set of spindles, not only will you be saving money on the rotors, you will also have better and larger ones.... For the same price, or even cheaper, that's one heck of an upgrade.

I know what you mean Montclaire but this is an original 70 T/A car, and I am trying to keep it original stock.

Original '70 rotors were 2 piece design. The replacement rotors sold today are 1 piece.

Ya Beep Beep. I know. But I don't think I am going to find the 2 piece roros. So I have to get as close as I can. I don't think changing the spindles would do that.

Just wanted to make sure you were aware of that.
The new rotors are basicaly the same as the 10.87" '73 and up rotors except for the bearing size, so stopping power will be about the same.

It would take a pretty serious Mopar person to figure out the knuckles had been changed. You can use your stock calipers and hoses on the newer rotors. Basically it will all look stock if you use the later model 11 inch rotors. If you put the 11.75 rotors on there then someone might notice the difference but I doubt it.

Myself I'd think you were smart by putting the bigger rotors on there. I guess some nit-picking numbers matching guy might think you were dumb for changing factory parts. Guess it all depends on what crowd you feel most comfortable with.
