And some didn't? Was it a year range thing or a model thing?

Did it have anything to do with an option like the A01 light package on the '69 rr? I think they came with a glove box lock and console lock (if you had one) and a glove box light, map light, delayed ignition key light, fender mounted turn signals......do the A-bodies that have the locks (can I use this here for a happy lock Graemlin ) have anything else like came with the A01 option?

I was thinking the same thing. Like some high end option gave you a console lock.

I make the woodgrain overlays and about 20% of the people order the wrong one because I make them with and without the lock hole. Wish I could say 67-70 get the no hole and 71-76 get the hole.

It must be a late thing because the console button did not appear until 1970. I have had literally dozens of late A-Body consoles and have never seen one with a lock! Maybe it is an LA build car only, more crime in that neck of the woods...

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

Well now you have me thinking. It seems I had one with a lock at some point, just can't remember what it was in or if it was just a spare. Maybe they used a lock from another car line when they ran short of buttons. Wait, some didn't even have buttons... I don't know. I'll have to look at the three A-bodies I have with consoles and see what they do or don't have now.
