Finishing up the resto on my 69 Dodge Dart convertible. I have these 2 parts which I have been trying to identify to no avail. They are aluminum have recessed holes for screws to attach to something. No part numbers and the shape makes me think they fit between 2 other parts. One has a pretty good amount of wear and it looks like it is all in one direction. the other has random marks. Both can be cleaned and polished, but what the heck are they for? Anyone???? I got the car in pieces and so far this has been the only mystery parts.

Thanks all.

Hmmm maybe they are from a parts car that was used for this Dart somewhere down the line (before me). They are pretty thin for the amount abuse they look like they have taken. I was going to guess that whatever car they were in it was down by the feet because of the wear marks.

They look like parts that would be at the bottom of the door panels above the carpet , not sure how those were on an A body though

trim between the carpet and the rear side panels, IIRC.

They look like 4 door sill plate joiners...goes between front and rear sill plates.

I could go with that also, I've had 2 doors, 4 doors and vert's apart over the years. Memory may be fuzzy. Definitely A body parts I say.

I think that is what it is . I did just see a picture of an A body in the race section with a similar part that was holding the rear side panel , but now that I think of it the car had no back seat and the owner may have improvised it's location to hold the panel.

I also think they are the trim pieces that go on a four door between the doors to hold the carpet down.

Rick -- those are definitely carpet hold downs. I have similar ones in my Demon and Barracuda behind the rear side panels. Those particular ones would be from a 4 door -- the tabs on each end go behind the inner portion of the front and rear sill plates.
