Im going to put a set of Cuda (70 or later) soft back buckets in my 70 Duster 4 speed. I was given what I was told are a set of a-body brackets as well. I set the seats in the car where my old split bench seats holes were ( the outer ones) and my mock up doesn't look right my steering wheel isn't centered in the drivers seat and they seem a couple inches too low. Is this because of the 4 speed ? Are all 70's Mopar buckets the same size. I really want to use these seats they look great and are much lighter than my split bench.Could I have the wrong brackets ? Thanks for any help you guys can bestow upon me

The soft back '73-'74 e-body bucket seats frames are the same as '73-'76 a-body bucket seats frames.
a-body tracks are taller than e-body tracks (& the hole pattern in the floor is wider e-body VS. a-body)

got pics?

Buckets don't usually use the same holes as the bench seat so that is probably why the wheel isn't centered, there should be dimples in the floor where you need to drill the holes for the buckets.

Also there are reinforcement plates welded to the floor near the hump. You can buy them aftermarket and weld them in. If you don't your seats may crack the floor pan.

Here is a pic of a 69 floorpan. There should be plastic plugs in the holes on the outside where the buckets fit. 73 tracks will not fit your 70 Duster floorpan, you will need to use the earlier tracks.

And these are the 73-74 Dart sport
buckets I'm installing.
The brackets fall right in place.

I thought the tracks were the same '68-'76? Here's a pic of the passenger side '70 or '71 a-body bucket from the front. The center holes on the adjustable stud pattern is 12-3/16" x 12-3/16". I also have a pair from a '74-'75? with the fasten seatbelt sensors in the cushion & they appear to be the same size shape. Rhino, what's different? When did the seat belt thing start?

In 1973 I believe. I tried to take 73 buckets and put them in a 69 Dart and they sat a little crooked.

The contour of the floor pan changed so the later seats are not a direct bolt in in the earlier cars.

Change was for the cat converter wasnt it? And just on the drivers side so the PS tracks should have remained the same just the DS inner track changed.
