the key got left on in my '01 cummins ram, for a WEEK. drained both batteries. I charged them both up and now the 'engine' light in the dash is on... it's gotta be unrelated, right? everything works/runs fine.

I would unhook both battery grounds for 30 minutes and retrying.

Get the codes read. Before you do a battery disconnect. That way you know if it is or not.
