This engine is to debut as early as next year in special SRT8's.

I don't know how extreme they are going with it, but any speculation on power assuming the 6.4L crank and Apache heads with a smaller bore?

6.4L = 4.09 Bore X 3.72 Stroke (392)

6.2L = 4.03 Bore X 3.72 Stroke (380)

The GM LSA (ZR1 engine) dimensions are 4.06 X 3.62 and makes 580HP @ 9psi boost. The 5.8L in the GT500 makes 662 @ 15psi

It about time Mopar stepped up with that. The HP wars continue!

Now if they could build a Cuda that weighed 3500lbs or less they would have something.

Bout time!
My 2010 SRT Challenger has had the Procharger on it for 8000 miles, ha ha ha

Now they need to put Rosie on a diet, there is a whole lot of her.

Hope they intercool it. They look good in the grill

they can build a car that weighs 3000lbs, has 700+ RWHP and sell it for under $10,000 and some of the guys on here would still find something about it to b!tch about....

Its going to be a roots type blower on it apparently, like the ZL1 and GT500 have. Couple conflicting rumors, one says its definitely going to be a 'Cuda and one says Sergio Marchionne took a look at their Cuda concept and said no, just build a smaller / lighter Challenger instead.

So I guess we'll see.

LA = Next generation Cuda / Challenger. The other L's are current Challenger, Charger and 300.

BT and DX = Ram.

Let's hope they design this block right. Thick bores to handle the boost.
Plus to help offset the cost of a small production run. Offer the same block to the general public for the same price as a bare 6.1.
You will sell a massive amount of blocks. Fiat r u listening?
Matt

I think the only reason they're gonna build is for the Drag Pack cars to use against the COPO maros.

Your probably right but in the end I am only interested in the block for a resonable price.
My personal opinion is they drop the ball with the one off aluminum block. If they would of cast the 6.1 with thicker bores in the end they would of made more money with the bare blocks that people would of purchased.
A Production block that handles 1100 to 1200 of instant blower boost. For 1400 to 1800 dollars =
You have PRODUCTION heads that flow Very well. The only other missing piece is this block. This block is only required for the serious all out effort. I believe the 6.4 block is well suited for the average weekend warrior. But only time will tell on this. Matt

Good news or bad?
If its bad, it probably has to do with the economy. Fiat is probably scaling back which =
