A friend picked up a set of TTi "B" 383/400 headers for cheap. He's wondering how will it fit on a 440 in a B-body.

Any one ever tried this before?

I had 1-3/4 TTI's on a 400. Switched to a 440 and everything hooked up fine.

I bought a set for a 383 then decided to go with 440. I had not installed the headers yet and i called my supplier and asked him. I was told that one of the sizes would work the others would not. I bought the 1 3/4" headers and I was told these will work with both the 383 and 440.

Other than for spcific Brodix or Indy heads, TTI just sells their b and RB headers as "big block" headers, one size fits both engines according to their site. This is what I remembered when I bought the ones for my 383 - just have primary size to chose from, not B or RB application. My 1-3/4" primary units are designed for both.

i believe the 1 7/8" are made specific for a low deck or high deck. buyer has to specify.

That is correct, BB 1 3/4" headers fit both low and raised deck, the 1 7/8" headers have different part numbers for 383/400 and 440.
