Aircraft Stripper use to be very good stuff... In some areas (hopefully where you live) it's still good stuff... Here it's had it's effective ingredients banned....

Be sure to keep the stripper away from the seems and the edges so it doesn't bleed thru later. But the air craft stripper is good stuff when used correctly.

Jasco Epoxy paint stripper is almost the same as aircraft stripper & much cheaper, buy it at Home Depot. Used both em both, this is pretty good stuff. A trick is to brush it on then cover it in saran wrap plastic, it keeps the stripper from flashing off & allows it to work into the paint better plus a lot of it comes off with the plastic when you pull it up. As someone said dont get down into the seams as you dont want it affecting the new paint later. I rinse off the panel really well outside then scrub with Dawn & warm water then rinse again, worked great. If it doesn't all come off in the first coat scrape it & recoat w/more plastic & do it again.

Back when I could get good stripper I would strip the car before I took it apart, I would focus on one panel at a time, use duct tape to tape off the door, trunk & hood jambs, the saran wrap trick helps, putty knife & coarse steel wool... After removing as much as the stripper will do grab a D/A sander & some 80 grit... The edges will clean up pretty quickly....

I did a lot of my panels off the car, doors, hood, fenders, trunk, etc... but I did use it on the roof as well. Just dont pour the stripper down the body joint lines, you can clean those outer edges off w/80 grit on a DA easily later.
The trick to stripper is washing the panel afterwards extremely well, make sure its all gone then by the time you've gone over it w/80 grit, wiped w/wax & grease remover a few times it should be fine. Dawn dish soap is an excellent de-greaser & if any got in the panel gaps I'd scrub them out with a that first.panels off the car is easier though you may not have that option.
One other thought, if your going for an overall repaint I checked w/a media blaster co. once on an AMX I looked at buying & they wanted about $800 to give me back a completely stripped shell - not a bad deal.

It's best to scuff the paint first before the stripper so it works faster. I have found out that the stuff they sell now isn't near as effective. I used to feel like I was burning all over using it, now I can get it on me and it takes a while to even notice.
