I've looked through my manuals and material but can not find this info. The center carb I have was missing the fuel inlet fitting. I bought one and it came with gasket, spring and filter. Does the spring install into the carb first then the filter? Also, the filter has a small hole on one side w/ larger hole on the other side. Does the larger circle hole point to the carb with the smaller hole pointing towards the inlet?

Thanks, Joe

Well, here is how I install those tiny worthless filters.

Though tiny worthless filters get cloggedup, so they must be worthless Yeah, Right OP, run the filters BTW, the GM and maybe some of the OEM Ford Holleys may have came with the filters, I have never seen any in the Mopar Holleys, six pak, single four or the race Hemi with two Holley race vacume secondary carbs Let us know what you do and the results please

The last 6 pack I had was over 20 years ago. For some reason, I think I ditched it back then feeling that the Mopar Inline filter was sufficient. Then again, I did a lot of stuff back then that I later learned was wrong.

Just want to get this right. Thanks for all the input so far.

Joe

Exactly why I said throw them out. They never came with them so why would you say that I am wrong for not using them? A good inline filter is enough.

There are a bunch of parts in the rebuild kits that are for other applications. You don't use them just because they are there and you paid good money for them. You just use the parts you need for your application and dump the rest.

Then I "assume" the reason Holley designed, produced and made them available was so they could be thrown away !!

If you bothered to read the instructions that came with the kit, Holley tells you that there are extra parts in the kit and to use just the parts that are like what came in your carb and discard the rest. The filters are for Chevys that didn't have inline filters.

No wait,I forgot this is Moparts and everyone here is to smart to follow the directions.

I had one set of the original mechanical after market six pak replacement carbs, I'll bet money that they came with the sinter iron fuel filter in them If they fit, use them
