The car has been on the back burner for toooo long, and i have all the body metal work done and cage welded in. now im looking to put a straight axel in front of it.. its a 73 duster, i have an a-100 axel, but have been looking into the speed way kits, due to it being lighter and having disc brakes. has anyone on here done a "gasser" build with a late model A-body? If so did you use factory front rails, or build your own front, what other kind of componets did you use. any pics?

JM2¢?

The weight saving has to be balanced against the consequences. There is so much that can be wrong with the alignment, scrub radius, caster, bump steer, shock positions, spring rate, roll center, CG height, etc. that unless you have an expert I wouldn't do it.

I haven't been in a lot of modern cars with straight axles, but none of them impressed me - even after $$$ spent.
