we have a 904 hooked up to a stock 360 and it seems to do fine in a 64 valiant but the motor is getting tired and its getting time for a new motor. nothing extreme cause this is the car my 16 year old brother will take down the track. so what are the hp restrictions on a stock 904 with a deep pan ?

thanks guys!

as long as the trans is in good mechanical condition the only thing I can say is in dead stock condition I would limit it to 400/425 hp there are things you can do to help make it better but that would mean getting into the case and changing the valvebody and adding a shift kit at the very least to help the clutch's and intermediate band lock up cleaner with a little more line pressure,,slippage is not good and the clutch's are not very big and slippage will kill them quickly, if you are using a kickdown linkage make sure it is adjusted dead on, that controlls the line pressure on a stock VB.

we actually have the shift kit and reverse manual valve body actually so I would say we are good to go!

Always give the converter hub that slides into the pump a good look for cracks, they have a habit of breaking the tangs off...(if the converter is used)
