It has been a while since I have done one of these and I bought a different gasket kit that the last one. My first kit had a grease zert (and instructions) that was added to grease the pivot. Where do you drill the hole for the zert?

I don't believe it's critical. There's a cavity around the shaft inside the pivot. I guess I would drill so that the zerk is on the bottom when the pivot is installed so that you can reach it.

That is kind of what I remembered. I don't think I will live long enough or drive it enough in the rain to need to grease the thing but I guess it is just as easy to think ahead. The more I thought about it, I figured it was right between the short length and the flange that attaches to the firewall. Thanks

That's about what I did. It was really just a way to get some grease in there during the rebuild more than service later.
