most people don't seem to grasp the fact that's it's easier to feed two carburetors being you have twice the needle/seat area. there are plenty of electric pumps on the market that will do the job unless you're insisting on a mechanical pump for some reason.

Yep, I read an article in ND many years ago where WJ stated that very same concept and in fact said he used two Holley standard non return regulators because they fit his requirements at the time.

Not looking to go with an electric pump, just a good mechanical that bolts in the stock location on a 440. I saw the clay smith pumps just haven't heard much about them.

I think what they are saying is a mechanical pump that bolts to the block isnt going to supply enough fuel for 2 carbs.

believe it or not the HV carter "might" be enough however there is the clay smith pump and if you really feel the need...

Can you put one on the other side too?

I honestly don't know but I think you are asking a lot of a single feed single outlet mechanical pump.

Hi Anthony, I ran 11.20 with a carter strip pump. I still have the same pump. You can come over and get it if you want.

Took a lot of grinding on the pump and the block to get the Clay Smith to fit on my 440.

After I bought the pump I found out the solid street roller cam I orderd did not have an eccentric ground into it.

A racepumps piston pump is good to 2000 horsepower, do you think you are going to make more than that? Tim

So they say. That said I have one and it seems to work well. They do not seem to like sucking fuel from a stock pickup (from my internet research). They work great with a sumped tank/fuel cell though. One major drawback is that they are expensive!

Check out the CV products billet mech fuel pump
for the Dodge R5 nascar block they fit BB mopars
any volume and pressure you want
there is a few nascar teams on ebag that sell them cheap after 1 race. I bougt one for $100 with 1 race and a fresh kit in it
the Clay Smith pump won't fit unless you grind the piss out of the block side and then the puimp arm is very sloppy side to side and will fall off the push rod and bind up I know this first hand if you want one I will give it to you for free just to get the thing off my bench
