I have 2 1095 Demons. They run fine on dyno & made more power than my 1050 Holleys. At the track, if you ease into the throttle, they work fine. If you use TB & leave on convertor, motor shuts down for a second & then takes off. Put them on a buddies car & they did the same thing. Put the Hollies back on & everything is perfect.
I talked to a ex-BG employee & he said to take out the plastic floats & put in brass ones. Did that & still the same thing. Raised the float levels & lowered them, still the same thing.
Anyone have any ideas on how I can make these things work?
Thanks...

Vern are you saying it will not get up on the chip to launch on the brake? Or it gets on the chip fine but when you let go of the button it stumbles?

I used to work next to SMI Sean murry (murphy) induction.
he built carbs for guys- did all the tricks to them and tweaked them.
we got to talking one day about carbs, he said the demons ALWAYS need to pulled apart and cleaned. He told me they ALWAYS have some sort of debris in them. Is it possible when u ease into the throttle the booster circuit empties easily, but when u jump on it maybe some debris get sucked up? to big to go through just enough to stop the acceleration???

Al, It goes up on the convertor fine, it's when you let go it falls on its face & then takes off.

They are side mounted, so I don't think extensions would help. But I haven't tried that.

Does it have the correct floats? Meaning for a sideways mounted carb. I assume so but had to ask. Assuming this is a TS car leaving hard. I cannot imagine it is a lack of fuel at that point unless the floats are way off so will assume it is to much?!?

We haev a king Deomon on the brand X car and never really had any issues with it ever. Actually runs like a champ and always has.

Maybe it's puking out the vents? Maybe tie them together with a piece of fuel hose or plug boots and hose. Or possible the floats are a tad high..

At any rate good luck with it. We will be running next weekend up on the hill here. Go get em..

Is the acc pump starting to squirt the moment the throttle moves? if not, On my Demon there's a metal linkage that goes from the primary throttle shaft and operates the acc. pump, It needed to be bent to eliminate a hesitation I had in the acc pump squirt. In short it wasn't squirting soon enough, and bending this linkage eliminated the delay.

Take care,
Rick

Hey guys, I'm back. Lots of good ideas. I tried the hose over the vent tubes, still the same.
I'm going to try something next week. I'm going to take the bowls & metering blocks off the Demons & put them on the Holleys. We tried the Demon bowls on another Holley & they fit fine. That way if they still stumble, it has to be the floats bowls or metering blocks. Then I'll put the holley bowls & blocks on the bodys of the Demons. Hopefully I can narrow it down that way. Lots of screwin around, but I have to find the problem. Thanks again for all the ideas.
