Well the TTI muffs on the old Hemi are driving me nuts with a severe drone. So it's time to make a change. I'm thinking of Dynomax ultra flows or Magnaflows. Does any one have the Summit part number for the right fit dynomax for a 68 b body.Yes I think I have 2.5 side intake and 2.5 center exhaust. The case seems to be about 19 inches long oval shaped.

I am looking for some releif for the drone along with some performance increase. I am not looking for an ultra loud muff. I know this has been discussed many times but your opinion would be welcomed.

Just a thought, and a question. Are you running a X over pipe? Without it the harmonics can drive you nuts!

I was wondering the same thing even a H-pipe helps. A;so love dynomax mufflers turbos are pretty quiet until you get on them. Ultra flow are great louder but not overly until you stand on the loud pedal.

What was I thinking....

I was also looking to buy the ultra flows, the flow numbers are exc.

i have a summit x pipe and my exhaust drops before the diff and am wondering what my center to center measurement should be before it comes over the diff since eventually i want to run them out the factory holes in valance on a '70 e-body

no drone sound here. 3" x pipe into 3" super turbos under the seat and then into round Ultraflows by the tank. Very quiet on the street.

I use 3" pipe all the way back with Dyno Max Turbos and 24" long 3" diameter glass packs in the straight portion of the tailpipes and it's very quiet in the car, no drone. The car actually runs quicker at the track through the exhaust system than with open headers, Saves a lot of mucking around when I arrive at the track. Just put the slicks on and go.
I do lots of highway miles and barely hear the exhaust noise at all, just the nice deep burble all Mopars have.

451" w/ 6 pack.

Sorry unable to get back to the computer till now. My hemi has an h pype setup. Still the drone around 35-45 will drive you out of the car. Of course this is with a hi compression 478 Hemi. I would like a little more exhaust flow (which seems to be available with the ultra flows)but I do not want a total race muffler sound on the street when crusing. I was hoping some of the pure stock racers (A-12 guys ect. ect.) would chime in with their experiences and a correct part number for the right fit.

VanishPT,
interesting clip, car really hauls azz,
What is your setup?
10 years ago I threw over 15K at my #3500 e body 4 speed and had about 13-1 C/R and max wedge heads, dominator carb, everything I could get my hands on to run 11.40s @118, 1.4 60 foots with 10.5" slicks. And my car was not at all streetable. ??????

Nice car,
Casey

I'm 55 now, no time to waste. Not a week goes by that I don't hear about someone passing on.Let's get out there, smoke some tires, have a beer with a good friend,do what you have always wanted to do.I am pretty sure no one will ever say on their deathbed "gee I'm glad my life was calm and boring"
