Moser used to drill axles and drums for about $100.

Someone told Me that a 65 or 66 B Body with a 6 Cyl and a 7 1/4 Rear has the big bolt pattern and the 1 3/4 wide brakes looking it up they show 1 3/4 wide brake shoes but no drum pt#
Yes that is the application for the drum ... up to 70 ... good luck finding it. The last time I saw them the seller wanted $300 EACH. If you try to put these on redrilled stock axles you will have to make a spacer ring for the center hub.
I'd like to have a pair of them myself .

I had heard of the B-Body drums, but in 34 years of working on Darts I too have never seen a set and I have converted dozens of rear brakes.
I actually owned a car that would have had them ... 68 coronet 4 door with a /6, pretty sure it had a 7.25 rear in it, parted it almost 20 years ago ....
I'm going to make a call, I may be able to get my hands on one.

So the drums on these cars are worth some coin. Next time I'll keep this in mind before I sell them for a penny a pound.

No one has asked, so I will. Are the axles the stock a body ones that have been re-drilled to the big pattern? Or are they cut down big car ones, or aftermarket?
It takes gasoline to interest me.

Pretty much, I didn't even know this drum existed till this question came up within the last year and I looked in my factory parts manual.
I'm either reading into the OPs question too much or some are missing the point.
Here is how I see the question being asked ....
I am buying larger bolt patten AFTERMARKET axles to REPLACE the stock small bolt pattern axles . I have to keep the original factory track width because my tires are too close to my quarter panels using stock factory steel wheels ... which I have to run for the class I race in ... this means I must keep my stock axle offset and 1.75 wide brake shoes because I am using HUBCENTRIC rims.
If I drill out my stock axles and brake drums then I need to make a spacer to run hubcentric wheels, but I'm going to be running a spool and I have to use green bearings I have to switch to an aftermarket axle to be SAFE on the track.
Is there a drum that will fit the factory A body axle hub offset and works wit hthe stock A body brakes ?
The answer is YES ...

Valid question that we all seem to be ASSuMEing the answer in order to TELL the OP what to do .

The Axles are Moser, Ok heres the Story, A local Guy walks in My Shop with a pair of A body small bolt Stock axles. He wanted to buy big bolt pattern Axles. I then asked what brakes are you going to use your stock or B Body. He replied I like to use My stock brakes, so I ordered from Moser A body length axles with big bolt pattern. So He called me the other day and said he cant find a drum to fit, so I then said I can redrill your stock drums to 5 on 4 1/2. He said he didnt want to do that because it would weaken it.I explained that the rim is clamping the drum to the Axle, even with 5 extra holes it would still be safe. I then said Ive sold Hundreds of Axles with Dual patterns for racing and on the street. Still I could not convince him to redrill his drums.. So I told him I would look into finding something that might work. any help would be appreciated

Do the axles have the big bolt pattern center register or the small bolt pattern center register ? Do the axles with the B/E offset or the A offset ?

He must use the stock A-body drums and have then redrilled, no other choice! Have him get on the computer and show him this thread. There are no more knowledgeable Mopar people in the universe than right here!
I agree , by having them made with the small bolt pattern register you can't use the B body drum without having a spacer ring made to keep the drum centered and something to center the rim assuming he is using a hubcentric wheel.

And yet he was good with using the little brakes...unless the drum JohnRR has in mind uses the 7 1/4" flange offset same as A body, I see redrilling as the only solution.
According to my 69 parts book it should, I'll find out soon enough and will make a depth measurement to the SBP drum.

John, I just re read the post, and if I read it correctly Mpetros said that the Moser axles have the A body flange offset AND center register. Back in the day, I knew of a '69 Satellite 4 dr, 318/904 that had the 7 1/4. The owners teenaged son abused that car to no end, did a large number of J burnouts, etc and never shelled the rear. The car finally died in a snowy ditch, axle intact. Only v8 powered B body I ever saw with that axle. Seen a few sixes tho. It had regular 4 1/2" BC 14" wheels, far as I know with big car size register. I don't know what brakes it used, tho.
It takes gasoline to interest me.

I haven't looked into it yet but i'm sure the axle can be had wit hA body offset and LBP register. To me it's silly to make it with the LBP and the small register .

My dad had a 69 Belvedere with the same setup that should never have survived the abuse I dished out to it.
