i`m trying to remove the lock on the door of my 47 desoto, anyone know how its done?

That's not a 47 in your avatar.
Remove inner door panel.
Feel behind the lock. It will have a big nut (unlikely), a clip (very likely) or a sleeve with a set screw that is accessed from the door face with the latch.
In all cases, once the retainer is loosened of removed, the lock must be carefully moved and twisted to unhook the linkage and slide out the hole.

i have it all apart, it looks like there is a sleeve with a set screw in it, facing the door jam. it looks like there was an access hole there but has a small piece of metal welded over it.
