I pulled the valve covers off the 440 in my GTX to see how things looked (car has been sitting for years..). Looking at the rocker arms- and how the meet the valve stems- does not look right on some of the cylinders. They are not mixed up (left vs. right). The small hardened spacers are between them. How are they to remain centered on the valve stem tip? In pic 1 below, of cylinder 1, we can see that the exhaust valve rocker is far to the right of the valve stem center: In Pic 2 below, of cylinder 2, they are centered and have much less endplay. Also, the rockers in pic 2 look to be of a different stamping: Are the rockers in pic 2 OEM Mopar pieces and the ones in pic 1 generic replacements? Any suggestions on all of this is appreciated.

Is it my imagination or is that a small block rocker arm in the first picture??
!!
Can that be it? I've never worked on a SB valvetrain.

looks like the spacers are a bit skinny too, but it's been almost 20 years since I had a BB under my hood.
They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.

Look at the top right of the rocker. Its all hogged out.Thats why its sitting so far forward and off to the side.New rockers are in order.Heavy springs and or a big cam will do that fast.Rocky
