I spent 3 hours trying to get the kickdown linkage on my 70RR 383 auto to work. In fact I have been trying to get this to work for the last few years. Originally when I put the petal to the floor I can hear the secondaries open but the tranny doesn't kick down. What I did find was that the linkage was not going back far enough because it was hitting the exhaust pipe. Move the pipe and now when I put the pedal to the floor the same thing happends except now when I just lightly ease up on the pedal the tranny kicks down and works as it should. I have moved that linkage adjustment all the way forward and back as well as everywhere in between and can't get it to work properly. I am fed up with this.

Does anyone know a Mopar mechanic in NJ familiar with these cars that can look at this and set it up properly. It worked as it should before I had the tranny and motor rebuilt.

X2 on HP Mike...he can handle it... no problem.
I have his number at the shop, but I believe you'll find its under HP Motors.
