Does a 05 Neon use a gasket or RTV on the transmission pan.

The dealer put RTV on my 03 when it was under warranty but it always seeped a little. I changed the filter and fluid and used a gasket and it is dry as a bone. mike

I don`t remember exactly since it was a few years ago. I think it was 3 or 4 but the dealer should be able to tell how many you need. How much is a quart now? I tried to look up the part number for the gasket from the dealer online look up and they don`t list one. I was pretty sure I got mine there. NAPA shows the gasket in cork and rubber. I used the rubber.

Just got some from WalMart of all places, please don't hate me for that. $4.74 a qt.

A lot cheaper than the dealer for sure. If your not sure how many to buy, get extra and take back what you don`t use. Measure what comes out and that should get you close. Don`t overfill.
