Yes, when new it would have had a 8 3/4", and the bolt pattern was 5 stud, 4" bolt circle.

It takes gasoline to interest me.

Been working on a lot of B and E bodies??

Yes. All 68-72 340 cars have 8 3/4 rear ends.

All pre 72 A-bodies have 5 on 4" bolt pattern lugs whether drum or disk brake. (except for 68 Super Stock cars).

I've seen a 1972 340 Duster with a 8 1/4 rear end in it, supposidely (SP?) from the factory

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

The 8 1/4 axle never had small bolt pattern in any vehicle. It was FIRST introduced in the A body line in the 1973 model year.
My '70 Charger 500 HAD a 2.71 geared 8 1/4 axle. I have a '69 FSM listing the 8 1/4 axle for the B body line.
