We recently put a second hand maxwedge headed 440 with an eddy STR-14-45 manifold in my brothers dart. The problem is upon start up it's running bad looking into the carb fuel is dribbling out the primary boosters any increase in revs above idle it only gets worse. We have never had a problems wiith the old Dom on the old 440 so I don't know where to start looking?Any help would be gratefully appreciated there is a car show on this weekend we would like to drive it there if possible. Thanks in advance.

Did you replace the metering block gaskets recently?
If you put a 2 circuit gasket on a 3 circuit carb this will happen (DAMHIK)
Float level or fuel pressure too high

May just take the carb apart and go through it to check and make sure everything is clean and right

If the throttle blade is open too far it will start
pulling fuel

the easiest check is to lower fuel psi and check the basics.

Take it off the motor and flip it over so you can see how much the front and rear throttle blades are open, if the front is opened and the rears are not adjust it so there both open a tiny bit and try it that way. As already mentioned if the fronts are opended to much they will pull fuel out of the boosters as well as from the transition circuit and the idle fuel, make it idle on all four idle circuits

float level high or needle and seat sticking?

Float level and fuel psi seem ok, so we'll go thru all the other suggestions thanks very much guys I've a real good handle on webbers but just don't know holleys,I would have been running around blind espically with the metering block gaskets. Thanks very much for the help! Will let you know how we go.
