Can you replace the "felt" in the back of the wing window frame without removing the wing window frame? This is the piece that the front of the door glass slides in. Maybe take the window out and slide it in??

Yes. Disassemble the guts of the glass so you can remove it from the top of the door. Tape edges, take enough stuff off so that it doesn't get stuck on the way out.. including window felts/seals etc. You will need to unscrew the small phillips screw holding the rubber seal to the top of the vent window frame. Remove it and then remove the screw holding the rear leg (slider) of the vent wing window to the rest of the frame (at very top). Look in there, you'll see what I am talking about. At this point you should be able to separate the vent window slider leg enough to slide the window out from the top. Loosen things up as necessary to allow things to move around.
