Do you set the timing on a 273 the same as a 318? The 273 has the high compression pistons and a solid lift cam. Thanks

From my 1967 "Glenns". '67 4bbl 273 without CAP 10BTDC. With 5 ATDC. It's showing dual points on the non CAP application. CAP is Cleaner air package. No way I'd time an eng at 5 after

I would time it at what makes it run best within the constraints of the parts that are installed. I agree with the above, I would NEVER set an engine at 5 after as with the above mentioned emissions band-aid.
