I'm in the begining stages of my turbo 6.1 HEMI build for my GTX. I'm trying to figure out tranny options. Should I built a 727, or go the TH400/JW ultra bell route? What tranny is the best bang for the buck?

The car will probably end up laying down 1000 at the tires on good gas. I'm also wantin to do a trans brake. Let me know some of your opinions!

It will be hard to beat the deal FBS63 is offering his Rossler 210 combo for.

727 with a 1" midplate allowing you to use better converters

Tranzact clean neutral transbrake

Billet front planetary

300M output shaft.

Alluminum 5 disk drum or you could sacrifice with weight and run a billet steel drum just do not run the stock drum.

The normal little tricks on any basic 727 race tranny ussually included with the paperwork for the Valve body. If you know someone familiar with these they are easy to build. It can be done for less than $3,000. Or you can pay a known high profile torqueflite guy $7,000.

If you run the straight cut planets it will cost a lot more due to the price of those gearsets. This is where the T400 is cheaper plus you can get a case that is already certified with no need to run a sheild.

this was a pretty informative thread! Still not sure what i'm going to end up going with... I think the th400 would be cheaper and a little better, but the 727 would be much easier... hmmmmmm
