Have a locked out distributor and sometimes the starter is a little slow when hot. I found several threads talking about adding a separate switch to get the starter rolling and then hit the ignition. My car has the original ignition switch with MSD ignition box. I was wanting to know where would you put the switch? My idea was to just cut the wire from the box to the positive side of the coil for the switch (Orange I believe). Where is everyone else putting the switch or what else have you done to help with hot starts?

Thanks in advance!

I have the smaller red wire going to the MSD box hooked
to a switch... if your going to use the key to crank
the engine you will need to put the switch on the
left side somewhere so you can use your left hand to
flip the ignition switch on... dont know if you want
to hide the switch or not so that would make a difference
where you want to put it

My dist. is also locked at 34 degrees and is actually harder to start when I spin it then hit the ig. switch........now I hold the throttle about a 1/4 of the way down hot or cold and it lights right up.
