Car is a 74 road runner, 400 big block. The brackets I have for the engine are AC brackets, so the PS pump mounts low. Trying to put on the correct pulleys, and it looks like the PS one doesn't line up with the crank quite right. Also, the "correct" pressure hose doesn't even come close to fitting. So I'm wondering if the PS pump mounts up high on the non AC cars, like the 72 and older, or is my bracket just bent (highly possible) and needs a little massaging? Its a Saginaw pump. Anybody have any pics would be great, too! Thanks, James

Those pics are of a federal pump like mine. Totally different bracket and hose than a saginaw pump uses.

The oval neck doesn't show in the pic. But you're right, the bracket is different than mine.

My car's coming along slowly but surely. The engine bay is in primer and should be getting painted in the next couple weeks. I spent a lot of time doing sheet metal mods to clean up the look of the big 73/74 bumpers.

Thanks GreenGlow....that engine looks awesome!

The Bouchillon brackets mount up high like the 72 and older engines, correct? I think that would set the pump back far enough to line up the pulley. What is the correct pressure hose to use on it?

What doesn't fit about your hose ? is it the fitting at the steering gear box or the hose itself ? The fitting on the gear box changed between 72 and 74. I got my hose from O'Reilly's I just ordered on for a 73 Roadrunner with a 400 and it fit my 440 car perfect. I don't think that the pump could go any lower without being in the way of the oil filter. The pump and brackets in the link are the ones I used on the motor in the picture (I used the chrome set of brackets)

The fitting does not fit the pump, and the hose was way off for where the pump was mounted. I think its probably a hose for the federal/chrysler pump. And it could possibly fit if the pump was mounted up higher. Where mine was mounted, you did have the belt in the way of the oil filter, so it was a close fit. The brackets that actually mount to the pump look similar, but there is another bracket that drops the mounting point down. The engine had AC brackets, so I was still running with the AC crank and water pump pulley. I had to run the Alt by itself and the PS and WP together. Figured since I was changing the pump, I'd put the correct pulleys on it, too. I've never actually seen an original non-AC big block in a 73+, so I wasn't sure where the PS pump was supposed to be. Every one I've ever seen has the AC set up and the PS pump down low....

here's a bad pic of how the PS mounts with the brackets I have now. Sorry, its 2 am and I took it using a flash light and my cell phone. Hopefully you get the idea though..

Update:

I got the high mount bracket from 440 source. It is significantly different than the bracket that I had. I ordered the "saginaw" pressure hose from Oreilly's. Bolted it all up and fired it up tonight, and it all fits. Still not sure if non-AC cars came factory this way, but at least I have my pulleys aligned now and the belts running the right way. Just wanted to thank everybody again for their help...
