Switching to ti vales on my -1 heads want opinions on hardened tip or run lash caps and what brands hold up

i run hard tips on all Ti. valves. we sell several brands and they all recommend hard tips as well. that way you have the option to run lash caps or not, depending on what your combo requires. there's very little difference in cost between the two choices.

run hardened tips and forget the lash caps. Why put another part in a engine that could go bad.

The hardened tips will result is a greater distance between the end of the valve and the lock groove, so factor that in when having your valves made. Most Ti valves are custom, so if you're not sure about valve head angles etc, perhaps order them through your engine builder as he can advise you which way to go.

How much spring pressure and RPM are you talking about here? Useage of the vehicle?

This is in a pulling truck. rpm 8000-8500 for 20-25 seconds a pass. T and D rockers,pac 1.5 series double springs, tool steel retainers moving to light wieght top end do to long high rpm

A lash cap can't be an afterthought, since it changes the rocker geometry.
