76 Volare ladder bars, Alden coilover rear. The car has always hooked well, even with the M/T street radial. Now it has M/T 29.5 x 9 slicks. Have had no problem from them at all. I have prob 40 passes on them so far. All of a sudden they will not hook. I have plenty wear holes left. I have aired them up and down and keep spinning. When comming out of the water, they hook real hard, pull up, and spin out of the hole. I hate to buy more tires if there is something else wrong. Anybody??

Have you tried rotating them/swap one side for the other side yet? Sometimes that will bring them back

I ran Mickey Thompson for years. That is the reason I switched. Tires went away on some sets. For every one or two good sets I had I had a set that I was unhappy with.

Buy a Phoenix tire and you will never go back. I run them on three different cars for the last 6 years.

Did you make any changes to the car immediately before this problem started?

Are you leaving at the same rpm?

Are you doing dry burnouts between the water box and the line?

All of these will effect the cars ability to hook off the line.

I rotate mine every 10-12 passes. The last set of 29.5X9 lasted 108 runs. My car only runs 11.9 to 12.2 and I don't do John Force burnouts.

I have rotated them once. I didnt start messing with anything before it started spinning, started adjusting coilovers after it started. I roll through the water, clean them off and pull to dry ground to heat.

I had better luck with the radial for sure.
