I have the exact same truck.
Only two 02 sensor..one before and one after the CAT.

Yeah, there should only be two on a 1500.
Are you sure they didn't look up the wrong truck? The 360 HD's and V10's had dual cats on them and I believe they have three sensors on them.

Agreed, been there done that and if it's avail I will always use OEM parts ESPECIALLY O2 sensors
I fought a driveability issue a few years ago on a customers Dakota - only to replace the new customer installed O2 with OEM, problem fixed
