I'm detailing my 1970 superbee's grills, tail lights and rallye rims. Anyone have a good source for the paints?

Bump for the sunday crowd. Any other ideas that have worked? I'm not after a concourse original match.

I've used Krylon's semi-flat black and dull aluminum rattle can paint. The black is close to the mopar black on grilles and the dull aluminum is just about dead on for rallye wheels.

It's interesting. Totally Auto's paint is $25 a can... Eastwoods is half that. I've heard negative about the quality of Totally Auto's stuff but it's been years. I know it's PPG, but do we really need that???

On my 76 Road Runner grille, I cleaned it with alcohol and then used a vinyl type paint. Or find something made for plastic. It tends to stay on the grille better. As for the silver, why not try any kind of wheel paint ??? There must be something at your local hardware store or automotive paint store ???

I was not looking for NOS stuff, and found things that work. And unless you tell someone, they will never know !!

Good luck . .

Cheers

Mark

Satin Black is a better match, more balanced sheen...

Just my $0.02...
