I want to put A body rally style mirrors on my car.
What I REALLY want is a passenger side remote adjust mirror as well.
I had a conversation with someone at Spring Fling who told me some mid 70's C body cars had such a thing and the cable was long enough to wrap around to the driver side for the remote adjustment.
Anyone have expierience with such an animal? Know of a source.....probably C bodyonly forum?
Thanks

F bodies had dual remote sport mirrors. DS control on door, PS control is to the left of the ashtray.

They're square and fairly flat.

Late Bs have a passenger side remote mirror available that is a Rallye-style mirror. Cable reaches down by the radio IIRC. I have one on a '76 Cordoba that I'm going to attempt to install on my '74 Charger.

An '06 3500 QC 4x4 Laramie CTD with a 6.7 named "Frankentruck", an '80 W200 CC 440/435 yard truck, a Dakota, a Hemi Ram, and a bunch of projects....still working on resurrecting my '74 Charger after a 25 year hiatus for a "quick paint job"! Now a '78 D150 shortbox factory 440 to keep me occupied.

I pulled a nice pair from a '76 Doba that I parted.

This is the style I want but...I am installing it on a 70 B Body so it needs the type of base that mounts on the flat door "top" edge rather than the "side" of the door like the E-body ones do.

I guess I will probably end up with 70-76 A body types with a manual passenger side.

I wonder if it is possible to change the base "pillar" piece out????????

I had a look a while back when I first considered this. Looked to me like if you were willing to break the glass (and I've seen replacement glass offered somewhere, but can't remember where) you could access the screws to remove the base from the housing. What I can't remember is how the adjuster cables hook up to the glass. Only reason I looked was that '71-74 B-bodies use screws down through the base to attach to the door and this '76 has studs on the bottom. I think I'll probably end up leaving as-is.
