Ok guys, I search for an answer to my dumb question but couldn't find one. So today I redid the wheel bearing in my satellite and when I got done I moved the wheels side to side no movement good and then up and down and it has 1/4" of play. If I tighten down the spindle nut it goods away, but any tighter then it is right now and the wheel will not spin freely and I know on newer cars any play is bad is this normal for a satellite or is something wrong. It also has front drum if that matter. Thank You for the help.

There should be no play up and down. Did you replace the bearings, or just clean and repack them??

I check them for wear and then clean the and repacked them. The resone I did this is because I took the car around the block and when I got home I had grease all over the wheel so I pulled the dust cap and grease was as thin as 30w motor oil and ran out.

I would try replacing them. Sounds like they are worn out. I am doing the same on my cuda. 1/16" of play up and down on the passenger side. I decided to just replace them.
