First time out with my new 493 ci RBRE stroker. 1st run was an eye opener for me. After crew chief Dave and I did a little chassis tuning, the pucker factor calmed down. 9.18 @ 145.4 with a 1.242 60' time!! Not to mention 117 mph in the 1/8 ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif) Thanks to Ray Barton and his crew, Rob @ LRT chassis, starting line crew @ the house of hook = Byron Dragway. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bow.gif) Don

Congrats on the new best! Was Jay Zolko involved with that build, by any chance?
Kevin The young man running the dyno on Sat. ( David was at Belle Rose) his name was Jay I think. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shruggy.gif) Don

He's a good guy. built some very fast FE stuff when he worked for 422.

Nice!! I wondered what you were up to over the winter...Can you give us a rundown on that engine??
Nothing fancy 13:1 flat tappet cam, SR max openings, ported, 400-3 manifold, MP 4.15 crank Barton/Manley 4340 rods.
745 HP 662 lb/ft. 2.5 tenths quicker than my 451, 5 mph faster.... so far.. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)
1.242 60' 3.695 330' 5.816 660' 117.6 660' mph 7.642 1000' 9.185 1320' 145.4 1320' mph
I think there's more in it, that's out of the box and some chassis tuning to calm it down. I can feel the difference in power for sure!
Thanks to all for your compliments ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bow.gif)

Bob it put a little flat spot on 1 tube. That side is lower than the other. Glad I got that fueler pan from you. If I had the Milodon like on my 451, I think Jerry and I would BOTH be pulling them off ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rant.gif) I was a little late on the 1-2 shift (man it revs quick!) and I felt it spinning a little on the top. The 6600 rpm shift light came on before 1000'. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eeek.gif) crossed the line @7050 rpm. Yes Jerry it was cool people coming up to the trailer, it reminds me of driving my Super Bee and all the thumbs up and smiles you get ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif) But it sucks not being able to see where you are going! ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/luck.gif) Can't wait til Sat & Sun for some competion. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/drive.gif) Don

Nice new best. I would never want to go up that high. Nice car
JD to be honest with you, once is enough for me. I'm so glad it didn't break anything, I have seen several friends have problems with big wheel stands. Thanks, Don
