I have 2 questions while we have some knowledgeable people talking oil pumps?
1.- What does everyone think about the new design milodon pump,Good or Bad?
2.- I am thinking of maybe using the milodon part # 21815, Good or Bad choice?

i've no experience with the new pump but afaik it's the same as their original external entry pump but is designed for using the internal feed and is anodized billet aluminum. they've also introduced a new line of one piece billet covers to alive the problem the original ones had with the gasket blowing out.

as for the PN you listed i'm "assuming" you meant the 21815 which is their original external feed pump. i have used them with zero problems although others have had problems loosing prime.

The 21815 (left out the 1 the 1st time)pump has the dual inlet doing away with the need for the plate between the pump and block, also it looks like the vane and rotor are different from the older ones. My milodon from a few years back had the plate between the pump and block for the 2nd line.

I have 2 21815 pumps on 2 engines. 1 is brand new for my B1. I bought it because the 520 in my dart worked good with the first one and no issues. I am trying their new smaller cover this time tho, for the first time. I run a remote oil filter to. The new cover gave me a little more room in front of my rack n pinion. The 21815 takes it's own length bronze distributor drive.

3. Length of distributor drive shaft should always be checked to be sure that shaft is not bottoming out
in gear causing this gear to dig into and ruin the pump cover. A minimum of .060" shaft end clearance
is required. Shaft should be shortened if neccessary. The Milodon #21513 and #21523 pump shafts
are required by the 21815 pump equipped engines. When a steel bodied high volume pump is used,
the 21505 and 21525 pump shaft and gears are reuired. When a steel bodied high volume pump is
used with a dual line spacer the long length pump shaft #21500 and 21520 are required.

i believe the rotors are from a BB ford. i never really liked the spacer plate deal but many have used it. i didn't care for their cover so i hacked one up from a stock cover.

um...forgive me for asking the stupid question but if the threads are damaged enough that they can't be used for a hose fitting how are you going to cap it?

about 25% of the threads are toasted, only on one side.... so 1/4 of the round part is messed up... when i said cap I was thinking tig it shut with a plug. in my head i pictured what i wanted, in the forum i sounded stupid

my worry is leakage if i run the external pickup... if its plugged i can replace it at a later time, if i ever decide too.
