Just assembled a 70 Roadrunner. Engine dies after a few miles. Let it set for a few minutes and fires back up Checked fuel, ruled it out. Its not fuel so it must be electrical. Installed an MSD Digital 6 box. When it dies there is a smell (exhaust) associatd with an out of time engine. Running an MSD Blaster 2 coil and the ballast resitor is still in place. As a matter of fact the MSD box draws its "on signal" (red wire) from the hot side of the ballast. Really perplexing. Anyone have an idea?

the small red wire should not go through the ballast. you also don't need the ballast (unless you still have points).
