I was looking into putting a 4spd into my challenger, and was wondering if a b body setup with swap into my car.

I know the shifter position and rods will be different, but what else? It looks like the pedal assemblies, although slightly different, will still work alright, is that correct?

Would any years (?71-75?) work better then any other years?

Thanks,
Chris

Not very much of it swaps over. The pedals don't and if you have a '69 or earlier 4 speed that won't either as well as the shifter. You can use the bell housing, z-bar and that stuff as long as its the same size motor. The pedals need to be from a '70-74 E-body, I have used '71-74 B-body pedals but you need to fabricate the front brackets, good luck.

Thanks for the reply.

I've seen pics of both b body and e body pedal setups and they are almost identical except that one or the other has a loop closed at the top and the other is open.

Are you sure they won't swap?

71-4 B body pedals will work in an E body if you bolt them in the E body pedal housing.

Chris, just to clarify what I said, I was thinking that you were trying '67-70 B-body pedals into an E-body so it would help if more specific on what year parts you have. The upper bracket, or doghouse's are different for B and E bodies, pedals (not including the doghouse) from a '71-74 B-body will fit right into your E-body doghouse, auto or stick but its a little tough to do in the car as the OC spring will give you fits if its your first time doing it. If the trans is a '71-74 B-body, that will fit also. Sorry if I gave you bad info.

I think pretty much everything from the 4sp setup is swappable from a 71-74 B body to an E body.
