Apparently my car originally came with bucket seats & a console. When I bought it, it came with a redone bench seat with what looks like new tracks. I got the car running and went to put the seat in and non of the holes line up. Does someone have a bench seat car that can give me a diagram of where the holes should be. I'm not even sure if the tracks are the correct ones or not. The studs are 12" center to center front to back and about 46" center to center apart. Please help I want to take this thing for a RIDE!!!!
Thanks

There should be reinforcement brackets welded in the floor that have holes in them. See this from the bottom.

I marked up this picture of my 68 RR on its side. This is a bench seat seat car so just the four holes. I'm not close to the car to give you measurements but I added circles for reference. The four black circles are the factory locations for the bench seat. As mentioned in the previous post the area has reinforced brackets. The yellow circles are around the dimples in the floor pans for the extra holes needed for bucket seats. I am not sure if the car is coded for buckets that it will get extra plates there as well. Hope this helps.

The holes and the reinforcement plates are present as shown in the picture above. Maybe my seats just have the wrong slide brackets on them. The studs are 12" apart Center to center is that correct? Are the holes all the same for a bench seat car vs. bucket seat car? Just trying to figure out what's wrong with mine.

I would imagine that the base floor pans are the same across the b-body family, stuff gets added on or modified depending if 4-speed or console for example. If the car has bench seat selected then just the four outboard holes get drilled, if buckets then inboard dimples will get punched out as well. I converted a few 68-69 B-bodies many moons ago and just needed to drill the locator dimples out and the B-body buckets bolted in. If the studs on the seat tracks don't match your factory holes then I would put money on your seats being from a C-body or maybe later version B-body. If the measurements are the same then make sure both seat tracks are in the "released" position or that the springs are not stretched. A few years ago I helped a buddy put in his bench seat after he fought for a few hours... he was missing the wire that actuates the other side and both sides were at different ends on the tracks.

Good luck.

Those tracks look different then mine. I wonder if my seat has the wrong tracks on it. I will try and take some pictures tomorrow.

Thanks for the pictures I finally figured things out with your help. I have the correct seat tracks but apparently someone rebuilt the bottom section out of bar stock and screwed up the stud locations. They did a great job except for the studs I couldn't even tell they weren't original until I took them off. Thanks for all the help now to
